Post #12 - From Two to Three

I can’t believe it has been a little over 7 months since our last post back in February. A LOT has come about since then. I have been meaning to sit down to share with you all but it's been hard to find the time these days. Since Cade turned 6 months old yesterday, I felt it was the perfect day to get back on.  Before I begin, I just quickly wanted to say a huge THANK YOU again to everyone involved in this story, to everyone who supported us, and to everyone who contributed to the costs. By your sacrifice, you helped bring this precious little boy to our family and I will be forever grateful.  Okay, so we left off on our last post back on Feb 21st where I let you all know that we were fully funded and moving onto the next stage of being entered into the matchbook. Being in the matchbook meant that the pregnancy clients were able to ...

Moving right along

On Thursday we got the email that read....

"Congratulations!  You have been officially approved into the infant adoption program"

With a big smile on my face, I quickly called Cody to share the news. Phew! All the hard work should be behind us now - the interviews, assessments, tedious documents/forms and such. This means everything up to this point has been approved and accepted by the agency. In other words, we are deemed appropriate and qualified to be parents by the agency. Next is to be approved by the state.

Over the next 2-3 months we/the agency will be

  • Working on our match letter (basically a 4 page letter/profile of us that birth mom/dad get to read)
  • Completing a home inspection
  • Writing up our home study (15-20 pg document to send to court)
  • Sending all required documents and home study to court for state certification
  • Waiting....

I know it seems like we are just about there, but remember that we wont be able to be chosen by a birth mom/dad until we are certified. We are expected to be certified by the end of the year. We are not given an estimated wait time to be chosen. There is no telling how long we will have to wait for that to happen, but we are trusting the fact that God knows.

Praising and thanking God for all that has been accomplished so far! As well as a big thanks to those who completed references for us, we appreciate you!

While we are in this waiting period I will continue to post here and there, sharing more about our story, our struggles, and FAQ's.

🧡🧡🧡
